Prof. Prize Garcia do Prado

Work carried out by the Gaucho Institute of Spine Surgery, in partnership with the Brain Institute of RS, PUCRS and PUCPR, was the winner of the Professor Garcia do Prado Human Anatomy Award. Entitled "Evaluation of the lumbar safety triangle using nuclear magnetic resonance", it aimed to assess the lumbar safety triangular zone, its limits and its relationship with the dorsal root ganglion through nuclear magnetic resonance. Based on the data and analyzes carried out, it was concluded that knowledge of the limits of the triangular safety zone through magnetic resonance imaging increases the safety of minimally invasive procedures in the lumbar spine.

The work was conducted by Fernando A. Dannebrock, together with Erasmo Zardo, Marcus S. Ziegler, Carlos Marcelo Severo, Joel Abranczuk, in partnership with Ricardo Soder and Graciane Radaelli from the Instituto do Cebra do RS, with the participation of the teacher Carla Schwank, from Geriatrics and Emiliano Vialle, from PUCPR, from Curitiba.
