InsCer researcher named member of Conabe
Researcher at the Brain Institute of RS, Augusto Buchweitz, was named a member of the team of twelve specialists who will work at the National Evidence-Based Literacy Conference, Conabe, within the scope of the Ministry of Education. The event will be held from October 22 to 25, in Brasília, with the theme “The National Literacy Policy and the state of the art of research on literacy, literacy and numeracy”. Literacy refers to literate people and numeracy are those who manage to develop logical and simple reasoning such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Conabe's specific objectives are to present and debate the state of the art of research on literacy, literacy and numeracy; promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge on these topics; to propose recommendations for improving the quality of teaching and learning, and to propose strategies for their fulfillment.
It will be up to experts, including the researcher at InsCer, Augusto Buchweitz, to prepare the National Evidence-Based Literacy Report (Renabe), which will, in turn, have the task of conducting, organizing and participating in the scientific debates of the Conference ; the collection and analysis of scientific data on literacy, literacy and numeracy; the analysis of pedagogical practices, teaching materials, curricular guidelines and assessments related to literacy, literacy and numeracy in the Brazilian and global contexts, producing recommendations based on research evidence; and the presentation of recommendations to improve initial and continuing teacher education and practices in the field of literacy, literacy and numeracy.
