Work on the HSL parking lot will improve flow at the Health Campus

This week, the road alteration works on the access to Hospital São Lucas began. The objective is to qualify access to the Hospital and other services at the Health Campus, as well as to improve traffic on Av. Ipiranga.

With a 120-day schedule, the work will bring as results:

• Solve the chronic problem of traffic jams at the entrance to the Hospital's parking lot at peak times, with consequences for traffic on Av. Ipiranga (in the neighborhood-center direction). For this, there will be an inversion of the road flow, making the new entrance to be aligned with the new bridge, delivered in 2019. With this, the current entrance (next to the Sports Park) will become the exit when the work is completed.
• Make more parking spaces available. This need arises with the increase in circulation expected with the expansion of the Campus Health services, which houses the Hospital, the Brain Institute (InsCer), the Sports Park, the Clinical Center, among other services.
• The improvements also mean an important delivery to our city, as it will have a positive impact on the general flow of traffic, in addition to benefiting the access and displacement of the users who seek our services. For the work on the parking lot to begin, a planned and careful removal of trees - authorized by the Municipal Environment Secretariat (Smam) - will be necessary and should last for about 45 days. It is worth mentioning that the compensation was properly carried out and, in addition, the University will transplant eight special trees for the Campus.

Valuing the safety of all, the Infrastructure Management of the University (Geinfra) will work with specific interdictions and, in the course of the works, signal the necessary changes in the flow to minimize possible inconveniences.
