Ivan Izquierdo receives Scientist of the Year award
The researcher at the Memory Center of the Brain Institute, Ivan Izquierdo, was awarded another prize, that of “Scientist of the year”, in the area of neurosciences, in the Professor category, by the Nanocell Institute. He shares the recognition with the researcher Fernando Cesar Capovilla, from USP.
Between the nomination and the vote of the Academy and the lay public, there were 65,000 votes across the country in six different areas, including neuroscience. The prize for Teachers must be delivered at an event with a date yet to be defined.
In the area of Neurosciences, technical or scientific studies were evaluated that promoted access to well-being through social actions, community support, patient groups and other activities focused on improving the quality of life of the general population, or discoveries that provided improvement or had direct application by society.
