St. Joseph's Day inspires us to be a sign of care in sensitive times
Inspired by the words of Pope Francis: “In Saint Joseph we see how to respond to God's vocation: with availability and readiness”, today, March 19, we celebrate Saint Joseph's Day. Chosen by Champagnat to be the Patron of the Marist mission in the world, he carries the look of zeal and love that has been present in Marist work for over 200 years. A just man, worker and example of a father, São José is recognized for being a sign of strength and tenderness.
In 2020, in addition to the date being set during the period of introspection experienced by Lent, it also goes through a delicate moment all over the world. With the advances of the new coronavirus (Covid-19), and the current circumstances of quarantine in different parts of the world, St. Joseph's Day invites us to reflect on the importance of a fraternal look in our work environments. More than that, it presents us with the need to look at ourselves and the other, seeking care, protection.
