Today we had the beautiful launch of BioHub aimed at the health area, an initiative that seeks to unite startups that can generate products and services aimed at the well-being of the population! In a fully packed room at TecnoPUC, the director of the RS Brain Institute, Jaderson Costa da Costa, stressed the importance of bringing together the expertise of health players, such as the São Lucas Hospital of PUCRS and InsCer so that new technologies have an application space.

The BioHub

BioHub is configured in a unique ecosystem in the country, formed by more than 80 laboratories, 100 research groups, the PUCRS Schools, the São Lucas Hospital of PUCRS, one of the main hospitals in the State, Tecnopuc, one of the best Science and Technology Parks in Latin America, with more than 170 companies, including more than 20 in the health area, and the Rio Grande do Sul Brain Institute (InsCer), a space that combines cutting-edge technology and applied research in neurology , with a team of world-renowned neuroscientists.

With this structure and all the knowledge generated by it, the idea is to boost solutions and startups, stimulate the culture of entrepreneurship among health professionals and promote connections that boost innovations in the area. For the vice-rector of PUCRS and director of InsCer, Jaderson Costa da Costa, due to his strong vocation for research, development and innovation, the Brain Institute can connect different researchers and players in the search for solutions for diagnosis, prevention, treatment and monitoring of neurological diseases and mental functions. “InsCer will also be a laboratory for simulating everyday life and applying new technologies. Our expectation is that the actions developed will have a profound impact on the health ecosystem, with an improvement in diagnostic accuracy, in the prescription of more effective treatment and in health promotion ”, he highlights.
